Bright is a regional centre in the north-eastern high-country of Victoria, on the banks of the Ovens river. At a little over 300m, the climate is temperate rather than 'alpine' but there is sufficient seasonal variation for some brilliant spring and autumn weather. Autumn is especially colourful with displays from many introduced trees: poplars, elms, oaks and Japanese maples against a background of immense, cool blue skies. We visited over a weekend in April, 2024
