The Palau de la Música Catalonia is an extraordinary modernist concert venue in Barcelona designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. The sculptures commemorate Palestrina, Bach, Beethoven & Wagner.
Photos taken on a 2017 tour through Northern Spain (and into Portugal) staying in the Paradors -- the state-operated Guest Houses, usually historic buildings -- spread through Catalonia, Asturias, Cantabria, Léon and finishing at Santiago de Compostela.
The images in this collection are from the Catalonian capital Barcelona -- including the Palau de la Música Catalonia and Gaudi's Sagrada Famila -- from the dramatic Abbey of Monserrat, from Pamplona and from the 19th Century Seaside Resort of San Sebastiàn, probably the best-known city of the Basque region.
